Every year, we try to line up a musician to come along on the delivery trip. They not only get supplies on the plane as part of the group, but they bring their instruments- usually a guitar- and do a little concert at the school to entertain the kids in the village. During the week- or both weeks, I'll line up some beach-bar gigs to entertain the rest of us in the evenings. Pretty much, wherever the musician is playing that night, is where we'll all go for supper... If you'd like to add a "world tour" to your resume', please send me an e-mail... In 2007, and again in 2009, Todd Basham & Michelle Belton came to Belize and sang some of their original & Country covers. They were so popular, there were fans from their '07 trip waiting for them!
In 2009, Ron Kale, a guitarist who does a music ministry in Roanoke, came along too. He was a guest speaker at St. John's Church on Sunday, and played some of his Christian songs for the congregation.
In 2010, Ron Bertrand will be our trip musician, joining us from Chicago. He is a "Trop-Rock" musician who lived in Belize for 2 years. Most of his songs mention Belize, and evoke some of the local color. You can go to "sponsors" on the menu, and click the link to his website.
